Healing with 6 Tastes of Tea - 3pm
Content: Learn about 6 tastes of plants and how when applied to tea, they shift our mood, aid in digestion, increase circulation and give a holistic sense of comfort.
Speaker - Olatokumboh Obasi/ Ola's Herb Shop
The owner of Ola’s Herb Shop for the past 10 years, Ola is a medical herbalist, nutritionist and birth
doula. Committed to community holistic health and education, she is founder of Three Rivers
Free Clinic for the People a free community service and partnership to Herbalists with our
Borders. She also founded Well of Indigenous Wisdom School, a 3-year school immersed in
herbal medicine and healing arts with an indigenous curriculum. The author of More Than a Smoke,
a brief historical look at Cannabis sativa, she has received much praise for her written work by
both scholar and amateur. A guest presenter and teacher at many conferences across the
nation, she began a movement for People of Color and reminding White America to honor
contributions to herbal practice by people of African, Native American, and Latin American
heritage. This is an important movement to her because it helps in the education and
understanding of all races’ diverse gifts in herbalism and healing, how to respect diversity each
one offers, as a result bringing tremendous healing and unification amongst all people. She has
worked with Charmaine Lee founder of Synergy Dance who mentors her in training prospective
Synergy Dancers. Originally from Africa, her travels around the world are extensive as she
integrates traditional knowledge of herbs and health with her western education. She received
her Master’s of Science from Maryland Institute of Integrative Health. Ola is a mother of 3
teens, she continues to learn from her children through challenge and tribulations what life offers
as she shares her journey of life with them and the human family.
