Let’s celebrate TEA!

Join us for a series of Tea Events around Pittsburgh.

The Pittsburgh Tea Association (PTA) is hosting its second Winter Tea Shop Hop on March 3, 4, and 5th. The Winter Tea Hop encompasses fun, unique events held all over the city at locally owned tea shops and their partnership businesses. Some events are listed below and more will follow.

The Pittsburgh Tea Association is a organization made up of the many local tea shops
The mission of the Pittsburgh Tea Association is to create a tea culture in the City of Pittsburgh that elevates the public awareness of tea and the many benefits of consuming tea. We will work to provide tea education, demonstrate the versatility of tea and build a dedicated tea social network to ensure our success.

These events will be held at many different venues: Tea Shops, Tea Rooms, Coffee Shops offering tea, Restaurants etc. We will be continuously adding events to this list, so it will be getting longer and longer! :)

Friday, March 3

Rare Tea Tasting 9AM - 3PMPrestogeorge Coffee & Tea (1719 Penn Ave, Strip District) will  host a Tea Tasting featuring their most exotic & expensive teas. Milk Oolong ($115.00/lb.), a rare natural buttery flavored Oolong, will be one of the stars in the show.  Sample their finest loose teas and explore over 300 loose leaf teas they have in stock.

Matcha Demos and Tasting.  Learn about Matcha powdered tea: what is it, health benefits, preparation, recipes & more.

Practice making cup of Matcha using bamboo Japanese whisk or electric frother! Free.

Happy Hour 3: Tea Beer with Grist House 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Tupelo Honey Teas 10 E Sherman St,

For the second year in a row, we are collaborating with Grist House Brewery to create beers with our tea blends. 
While the exact beers are currently being developed, all you have to know is that:
1. they will be good 
2. there will be two different kinds 
3. you should come drink them with us 
There are no tickets for this one, all you have to do is show up at 5:00 pm and watch our ceremonial keg tapping. Tea beers will be available for purchase as a flight (small sampling pours) or as a full pour.
We will also have our Hangover blend available for purchase, so imbibe with abandon.
*Must be 21+ to attend.

The Hot Toddy Coloring Party 6:00 pm,Bella's House of Fine Teas 2822 South Park Rd. (Bethel Park) 

Fun, Fun, Fun...Come sample different variations of  Complimentary Hot Toddy Beverages along with dinner and be part of coloring contest...lots of laughter having fun with friends.....BYOB is optional. $25 per person....coloring supplies provided.

Saturday, March 4

Afternoon Tea Buffet 11:30 am - 2:30 pm, Bella's House of Fine Teas 2822 South Park Rd (Bethel Park)

A great way to sample various treats served during an afternoon tea...scones, tea sandwiches and desserts. $30 per person.

Bee Well Blending 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Tupelo Honey Teas 211 Grant Avenue, Millvale
Come and create your own personalized tea blend! As part of thePittsburgh Tea Association's Winter Tea Shop Hop, we are offering the ability to custom blend with Danielle. 
From 12-6 pm, stop in and choose a base, and then up to 4 herbs to mix into it. Both caffeinated and caffeine-free options will be available. Want something anti-inflammatory? You can make it. Have a 
lot trouble sleeping? Create something strong to drink before bedtime.  $15 for a single recipe (2 oz.) $25 for a double recipe (4 oz.)
**We will not be taking reservations for this event. Drop-in only. First come, first serve **

English High Tea Service 12 - 4 pm The Inn on Negley 703 S. Negley Ave. (Shadyside)

English High Tea Service featuring local tea blends from Leaf & Twig LLC.  Local tea blender Melissa Vertosick, owner of Leaf & Twig LLC, will be on hand to talk about her hand-blended teas, while the staff at the Inn on Negley serve  a traditional English High Tea. Tea Mythology: Legend of Pu-Erh 7-8:30 pm , by

Little dancers, this is your Afternoon Tea Party. Put on your best dress and come and have tea with our Ballerina Fairy Princess...take your picture with the Dancing Ballerina Princes. $25 per adult, $18 per child.

More Tea Please - Tea Etiquette for Your Little One 6 pm  The Inn on Negley 703 S. Negley Ave., Pgh (Shadyside)

Join us and Steeped Tea Party representative Merizza Winters and certified etiquette trainer Mrs. Lane for an interactive class on tea etiquette, especially for your little ones.  Parents and children ages 5+ are welcome, fine tea and snacks included!
